Edna Mary Mooney, 91, Longtime Waldwick Resident

WALDWICK, N.J. -- Edna Mary Mooney, of Waldwick, died on Monday, Jan. 30. She was 91.

Born in Englewood, Mooney lived in Teaneck for 28 years before moving to Waldwick in 1953. She graduated from Teaneck High School and had a career working in the business world. She retired as an executive secretary from Inmont Chemical Co., in Hawthorne. 

She volunteered as superintendent for the Zion Lutheran Cemetery for several years, and she very involved with the women's group at the church. She was also past president of the Ho-Ho-Kus Senior Club. 

"Edna loved family, traveling, gardening and music," information from the funeral home noted.

Mooney is survived by her siblings, Robert and his wife Elaine, Edwin Jr., and Joan Schoeffel; nieces and nephews Ronnie, Michael, Linda, Timmy, Casey, Wendy, Dawn, Laura, Kathy and Kristen; and many grand-nieces and -nephews.

She was preceded by her parents, Augusta and Edwin Mooney Sr., and her sisters, Marie Kerber and Suzanne Maddison.

Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, at the Robert Spearing Funeral Home, 155 Kinderkamack Rd., in Park Ridge. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, in Saddle River. Interment will follow, in the church cemetery.
